Dr. Brian Yip

Dr. Brian Yip completed his graduate education and training at the University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry in 1999. The University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry is often regarded as the best Optometry School in North America1. Dr. Yip completed his undergraduate education at the University of Waterloo in 1994.

His education encompassed specialized training in the following areas / and facilities:

Ocular Disease Omni Eye Institute for the assessment and management of ocular disease.
Binocular Vision Dr. Claude Valenti specialized clinic for Binocular Vision and Vision Therapy
Primary Care Beale Airforce Base Vision Clinic, Portland Vetern's Administration Hospital, University of California at Berkeley School of Optometry

Dr. Yip is certified in both diagnostic pharmaceutical and therapeutic pharmaceutical agents, CPR and holds licenses in both Canada and the United States. He is an active member of the Ontario College of Optometrists.  Dr. Yip is able to conduct eye examinations in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Spanish which is greatly appreciated by our diverse patient base.

Doctor of Optometry

An optometrist in North America has earned a Doctorate degree in Optometry at one of the eighteen accredited optometry programs.  An optometrist must demonstrate the required knowledge, skill and judgment to become registered in their practicing jurisdiction. Further, they must demonstrate a commitment to continuing educational competence in order to maintain their registration.
